Services
The Sports Barn Injury Screening Clinic/Bodies in Balance
Bodies in Balance have been assisting health clubs through injury screens since 1997. Upon relocating to Chattanooga two years ago we have continued to provide this service through the Sports Barn Downtown. Our goal is to assist the Sports Barn trainers in better serving their clients. The trainers are often asked to screen or “train” a sore back, new injury, or post operative joint and to perform tasks that are outside of their scope of training. This is where we step in.
Injury screens are performed by either Lisa M. Fox, PT, CSCS, CPI or Bryant Miller, MPT, OCS, CMPT. The goal is to triage the client to assist in determining a course of action towards resolving their musculoskeletal injury. Screens include ruling out medical issues that require referral to a physician and determination of a preliminary musculoskeletal diagnosis. Recommendations may include referral to a physician or other medical practitioner (chiropractic physician, osteopathic physician, massage therapist, physical therapist et cetera) or simply working with your current Sports Barn trainer with recommended program changes.
Lisa also welcomes those who would desire a fitness screen to sign up on her list as well. This will include global assessment of flexibility, strength, movement patterns, Pilates based fitness assessment and/or gait analysis as time and the client presentation allows. The information is then shared with your current trainer to assist in the program development.
